In connection with implementing the Act on Civil Protection and Civil Defense, the VII National Practical and Technical Workshops titled “Civil Protection and Civil Defense – Practical Implementation Recommendations for Bodies, Entities and Organizations” were organized on April 9, 2025. At the event took part several attendants from Polish Association for Security including CEO – Jarosław Tokarczyk.
The workshops were inaugurated by the Director of the NATO DEEP eAcademy, who closely cooperates with the Polish Association for Security, and shared the following words with participants:
“For the third time, I have the pleasure of welcoming participants to our workshops. I asked myself… can I change or add anything to this welcome? Perhaps only to emphasize even more strongly that today I ENCOURAGE you, just as warmly and sincerely, to REPLACE your fears and anxieties with AWARENESS – with knowledge! What can we do to ensure a sense of security, which undoubtedly shapes both our daily professional activity and leisure? Even when taking extreme or risky actions, we strive to understand the likelihood of success or failure. We want to know the odds! Only then are we capable of taking risks. We want to KNOW what threatens us. So let us gain knowledge, build defensive habits. That is the very beginning of a sense of security.
Let a phrase I borrowed during the fifth edition of these workshops resonate: teach society to think independently and critically! But how do we achieve that? This is a historic challenge – reaching people with the right message in times dominated by social media and traps set by artificial intelligence. To this, we must add the challenges of a ‘new learning ecosystem.’ Not to mention the global security landscape, which follows the rule that ‘there are no eternal enemies or friends, only eternal interests.’ We have the tools, we have training and educational materials – including videocasts – we have lecturers and trainers, and we have a unique target group: our society. I INVITE and encourage you to actively participate in the workshops, hoping that your four-hour investment of time will translate into acquiring knowledge and identifying shortcuts on the path toward a greater sense of security. And that is priceless.”
The thematic scope of the workshops included:
- Selected aspects of preparing authorities, entities, and organizations to perform tasks within the Civil Protection System
- Planning in civil protection and civil defence – challenges in practical implementation
- Threat detection, warning, and alerting systems
- Assumptions and methodology for working with the National Civil Protection Program
- Practical recommendations for organizing training and exercises in the area of civil protection and civil ddefenceSpecific guidelines for adapting and constructing protective structures in Poland

After the workshops, participants filled out a survey on the NATO DEEP ADL Portal related to the essence of the workshop topics and generated a personalized attendance certificate.
