In connection with the implementation of the Act on Civil Protection and Civil Defense, the VI. National Practical and Technical Workshops titled “Training Organization in the Field of Civil Protection and Civil Defense – Legal Requirements and Best Practices” were organized on February 27, 2025. Conducted remotely, they were addressed to: (1) representatives of government and local administration, (2) representatives of inspection, fire services, security, unions, and institutions involved in civil protection, (3) representatives of the private sector and public institutions – companies and organizations, (4) scientists, experts, students, and anyone interested in civil protection and civil defense issues. After the workshops, participants filled out a survey on the NATO DEEP ADL Portal related to the essence of the workshop topics and generated a personalized attendance certificate, including the representative of the Association CEO – Jarosław Tokarczyk.
Opening the workshops, Piotr Gawliczek, Director of NATO DEEP eAcademy stated, among other things, that: these workshops are one of the few training events – if not the only one – that brings together people from all walks of life and professions. Security, after all, is an area that affects EVERY individual, regardless of their position, function, or wealth. To be creative and active, we need a sense of calm and predictability of events. Each of us, in planning the next days of our lives, requires the guarantee of peace, or at least the feeling that we will react in a rational way to emerging threats. This is precisely the goal of our workshops. They are designed to build our AWARENESS of what we can do to avoid being caught off guard by situations that disturb our peace and security. To teach us how to respond rationally and the need to develop DEFENSIVE HABITS. The group of speakers will try to open spaces of vigilance and the necessity of building environmental relationships. Where real threats bring unease, the workshops aim to impart knowledge of defense as a deposit of security. Let our common motto resonate as a phrase I took from our previous workshops: teaching society independent and critical thinking! The question arises – how? We have tools, we have training and teaching materials, we have lecturers and trainers, and we have a special target group. One of a kind – our society. This is a historical challenge – how to deliver the right message in times dominated by social media and the traps set by artificial intelligence…
