In October 2023, the Polish Association for Security (PAfS) and the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn (UWM) signed a cooperation agreement. This agreement expands the group of university entities open to joint initiatives within the framework of cooperation between the academic community and the socio-economic environment. Following the Chair of Criminology and Forensics (Faculty of Law and Administration), led by Prof. Wiesław Pływaczewski, the Association has inaugurated cooperation with the Faculty of Social Sciences (FSS) and the Faculty of Humanities (FH). In the case of FSS, the activities will be coordinated by Prof. Arkadiusz Żukowski, Head of the Chair of Political Science and Security Studies. The FH will be represented by the Assoc. Prof. Bolesław Łach, PhD Head of the Chair of Military Studies and Strategic Studies. The aim of the closer cooperation with the new entities is to undertake joint scientific and didactic initiatives, including within the framework of the Copernicus Forum.
The Copernicus Forum is an event that provides an opportunity to exchange experiences in the field of security. Lectures are given by outstanding security specialists, including NATO representatives.
It is important to emphasize that the PAfS is a strategic partner of the NATO DEEP eAcademy. Together, they organize scientific activities such as conferences, seminars, and lectures, as well as didactic activities such as the creation of e-learning platforms and the publication of scientific materials. Broadening cooperation with the UWM is an opportunity to exchange experiences in the field of security and a basis for initiating new projects in this area. Specific benefits are as follows: (1) access to a wider range of expertise and resources, (2) opportunities for joint research and publications, (3) increased visibility for both organizations (4) enhanced student learning opportunities The Polish Association for Security and the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn are committed to working together to promote security research and education. This collaboration will benefit both organizations and the broader community.
