The Polish Association for Security (PAS) continues its strategic involvement in counter-terrorism education initiatives, with recent insights gained during the annual DEEP Functional Clearing House at the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (June 23-25, 2025).
Dr. Sajjan M. Gohel, Chairman of the Global Threats Advisory Group (CTAG), NATO DEEP, emphasized during his presentation that the Counter-Terrorism Reference Curriculum (CTRC) represents NATO DEEP’s comprehensive approach to building resilience against terrorism through education, cooperation, and shared expertise. His presentation highlighted the curriculum’s design as a practical, dynamic tool rather than traditional academic modules.
This aligns with PAS’s ongoing counter-terrorism education efforts, including the recent review meeting hosted in Lidzbark Warmiński, where Dr. Gohel led a three-day CTRC assessment with fifteen subject matter experts from various countries. The collaboration demonstrated PAS’s capacity to facilitate high-level international security discussions and educational framework development.
The CTRC framework supports professional military and civilian education across the Alliance and partner nations, emphasizing practical application over theoretical approaches. This methodology resonates with PAS’s commitment to delivering actionable security education that addresses contemporary terrorism challenges.
Through continued engagement with NATO DEEP initiatives, PAS strengthens its position as a key facilitator of international counter-terrorism education and enhances Poland’s contribution to Alliance-wide security preparedness.
